A Loop Launch & Her Exposure Workshop

I’m so excited (and a little nervous) to announce the upcoming launch of Her Exposure ‘Roots’, and I can’t wait to share this special moment with you all! This launch is especially meaningful to me because it marks the culmination of so much hard work, creativity, and passion for celebrating female film photographers and their incredible stories.

Issue 03 Launch: A Celebration of Roots

On Friday, January 3rd, we’ll be gathering at Loop Art & Photo Space in Olinda to unveil the third edition of Her Exposure, themed Roots. This issue features the evocative work of 15 female photographers, each exploring themes of identity, heritage, and connection. The exhibition will offer a chance to experience these stunning images in person and dive deeper into the personal stories behind them.

This isn’t just a magazine launch—it’s a celebration of women’s voices, the stories that shape us, and the power of creative expression. It’s about honouring where we come from and the community that ties us together.

Launch Event Details:
Date: Friday, January 3rd
Time: 5 pm – 8 pm
Location: Loop Art & Photo Space, Olinda

I’m incredibly proud of this issue, and I would love to have you join us in celebrating the work of these amazing women. We’ll have snacks and drinks (including ETCH Sparkling) to keep things casual, with plenty of time to meet some of the featured photographers and chat about the inspiration behind Roots.

My First Photography Workshop: A Personal Milestone

Following the excitement of the launch, I’m also hosting my very first photography workshop on Saturday, January 4th! This is a huge step for me, and I’m so excited (and yes, a little nervous) to pour everything I’ve learned into this two-hour session. This workshop is not only a chance to deepen your skills but also to explore storytelling through photography, a topic that is incredibly close to my heart.

I’ll be guiding you through:

  • Finding Themes in Your Work to create cohesive photography series.

  • Zine-Making Basics, including tips for layout and crafting your own storytelling zine

  • Photo Curation, focusing on how to select and organise images to tell a compelling visual story

This workshop is especially meaningful to me because it aligns with my passion for empowering women and creating spaces where our voices can be heard. It’s a chance to connect, learn, and grow together—whether you’re just starting or already have experience behind the lens.

Workshop Details:
Date: Saturday, January 4th
Time: 9 am – 11 am
Location: Loop Art & Photo Space, Olinda
Cost: $49 per person
Spots Available: Limited availability—reserve your spot early!

Both the launch and the workshop represent something very personal for me—my journey as a creator, my love for film photography, and my desire to empower women in the creative community. I truly can’t wait to share these moments with you.

A special part of this journey has been connecting with Steve, the owner of Loop Art & Photo Space. I first reached out to him through Instagram, drawn to the incredible creative space he’s built. I absolutely love what he does for the creative community—it's constantly inspiring me to push forward with Her Exposure. His work and dedication are such a source of inspiration for me, and I can’t wait to chat his ear off and ask all the right questions to learn from his achievements.

I hope to see you there to celebrate the launch of Her.Exposure Issue 03 and join me in my very first workshop! It’s going to be a weekend full of inspiration, creativity, and connection.

Reserve your spot for the workshop and join us at the launch—I can’t wait to see you there!
